Great weather with a lot of smiles out on the Flathead river. Jude and Tina battled the elements on a half day trip in the afternoon. Thanks for the trip you two!
Spring Break!
I was able to get out with a few buddies the last 3 days and enjoy some great fishing. It was a little breezy out there but we landed some nice fish. Had a great trip today with Jeff and Robin from North Carolina. With a lot of the rivers muddy-up lately, we have many lake opportunities to fill your fly fishing itch. Rodgers lake was a great choice today. Had a strong Callibaetis hatch come off at noon, and it was the strongest I had ever seen it. Fish started eating on the surface at about 1 o’clock. What great day being able to get them on nymphs, streamers and then to top it off with some great dry fly action. We have been catching some great pike lately as well!! Sapa/Johnsrud Memorial Tournament Report
No fishing report today but wanted to report on the the Sapa/Johnsrud baseball tournament. I spent the last 2 days helping out with the Glacier Twins baseball program as they hosted the 29th annual Sapa/Johnsrud tournament. What a great tournament with lots of great competitive baseball being played. This tournament was created in 1985 to memorialize my Cousin Ray Johnsrud and Jimmy Sapa. 2 great young men and athletes that were taken way to early from us. I would like to say THANK YOU to the Glacier Twins program for putting on a great Sapa/Johnsrud tournament in memory of my cousin Raymond! I hope that the tradition of this premier event will continue to benefit the Twins program in the future.
